Your business
Leave tax at 0 if your “income you want” is already before tax (the usual way). Card fees, no-shows and quiet weeks are why the buffer below matters.
Worked example
£30,000 wanted, 46 weeks × 30 client hours, 15% buffer = 1,173 paid hours. Fixed costs £580 a month = £6,960 a year. (£30,000 + £6,960) ÷ 1,173 ≈ £31.51 per client hour, so a 60-minute gel set using £2 of product should be at least £34.

*Profit per hour after products and your share of fixed costs. Green: at or above suggested price; amber: below suggested; red: losing money. Product cost = what one service uses (gel, base, top, files, wipes, foils). Tip: a £15 bottle of gel that does 40 sets is about 38p a set.
